Indigenization of Center Buffer Coupler manufacturing

Objectives

In collaboration with RDSO a standard WD-70-BD-10 was developed for (i) indigenization of Grade E castings used for manufacturing of Center Buffer Couplers (CBC); and (ii) safety in rail transport.

Achievement (Output/outcome)

Six manufactures in India have started manufacturing and supplying CBC to Indian Railway.

No service failure are reported in last six years

Revenue loss is successfully checked
